Sunday at Devil Dirt is the second collaborative studio album by Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan, released May 13, 2008, through V2 Records. The album follows 2006's Ballad of the Broken Seas. Unlike the previous album, Lanegan flew over to Glasgow to record his vocal parts.
The hearing featured never-before-seen video footage and witness testimony as lawmakers aim to explain what they call a \"coordinated, multi-step effort\" by former President Donald Trump and his allies to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
In a nearly two-hour hearing in prime time, the House select committee placed Trump at the center of an \"attempted coup\" and \"multistep conspiracy aimed at overturning the presidential election,\" with the panel's chairs emphasizing how Trump and his allies repeatedly tried to stop the peaceful transfer of power.
\"Not only did President Trump refuse to tell the mob to leave the Capitol, he placed no call to any element to the United States government to instruct at the Capitol be defended,\" she said. \"The vice president -- Pence -- did each of those things.\"
\"I felt the bike rack come on top of my head and I was pushed backwards, and my foot caught the stair behind me, and my chin hit the handrail,\" she said. \"At that point I blacked out but the back of my head clipped the concrete stairs behind me.\"

Main Course brought the Bee Gees many new fans when the singlescombining soul beats with their gift of melody became their first hitrecords in years. In retrospect, this album is transitional to thedisco boom of the late 1970s. It has real strings and a real rhythmsection, more like a rock band than the synthesized sound that was tocome. The Bee Gees characteristically were a bridge between differentmusical styles.
Isobel Campbell & Mark Lanegan - Come On Over (Turn Me On)(Sleepover Shows, 2010)On paper, the idea of pairing clean-cut Belle and Sebastian vocalist/cellist Isobel Campbell with Mark Lanegan sounded like a joke, but the unlikely collaboration threw up three superb albums, with the pair sounding like an alt. country Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra. In a beautiful tribute to her friend in The Guardian, Campbell wrote, \"I hope your final journey after arduous battle was kind and graceful enough, Old Scratch. And I pray grieving loved ones left behind in time are soothed and heal. I will for ever cherish your memory in my heart. People said we were beauty and the beast. Yet I witnessed your beauty and I could frequently inhabit beast.\" Here's the pair at their most stripped-back and affecting.
Watch how he walks onto the stage, plants himself at the mic stand, one tattooed fist halfway down the stand, the other resting on top of the mic, immobile, massive, male. When the time comes to sing, he simply opens his mouth and releases a blues, a blues lived deeply and utterly earned, and that voice tears right through you, his sheer force on stage absolutely humbling.\"

In addition to the beat, many of the lyrics from \"Turn Me On\" are heavily sampled in Brown's song, most notably, \"Lemme hold ya, come caress my body, you got me going crazy, turn me on, turn me on...\"
While it is the prerogative of every Justice to read each petition for certiorari himself/herself, many participate in what is informally known as the \"cert pool.\" As petitions for certiorari come in on a weekly basis, they are divided among the participating Justices. The participating Justices divide their petitions among their law clerks. The law clerks, in turn, read the petitions assigned to them, write a brief memorandum about the case, and make a recommendation as to whether the case should be accepted or not. The Justice provides these memoranda and recommendations to the other Justices at a Justices' Conference.
After the initial petitions have been filed, the petitioner and respondent are permitted to file briefs of a shorter length that respond to the other party's respective position. If not directly involved in the case, the U.S. Government, represented by the Solicitor General, can file a brief on behalf of the government. With the permission of the Court, groups that do not have a direct stake in the outcome of the case, but are nevertheless interested in it, may file what is known as an amicus curiae (Latin for \"friend of the court\") brief providing their own arguments and recommendations for how the case should be decided.
The Solicitor General usually argues cases in which the U.S. Government is a party. If the U.S. Government is not a party, the Solicitor still may be allotted time to express the government's interests in the case.
If a Justice agrees with the outcome of the case, but not the majority's rationale for it, that Justice may write a concurring opinion. Any Justice may write a separate dissenting opinion. When there is a tie vote, the decision of the lower Court stands. This can happen if, for some reason, any of the nine Justices is not participating in a case (e.g., a seat is vacant or a Justice has had to recuse).
All opinions of the Court are, typically, handed down by the last day of the Court's term (the day in late June/early July when the Court recesses for the summer). With the exception of this deadline, there are no rules concerning when decisions must be released. Typically, decisions that are unanimous are released sooner than those that have concurring and dissenting opinions. While some unanimous decisions are handed down as early as December, some controversial opinions, even if heard in October, may not be handed down until the last day of the term. 781b155fdc
