I personally like a good dungeon crawl style game. I think playing them can be more fast paced and tense than what has become a standard campaign involving lots of overland travel. As far as new dms go, they would be best to try a contained space like a dungeon rather than attempt to build an entire overland travel and dozens of tavern folk.
At its core, Dungeons and Dragons (or D&D) is a role-playing game where the players work together to overcome obstacles and achieve the goals of their characters. You can use a certain amount of Crystals to revive from the spot if you've used up all your free revivals. You will revive at a nearby location after 180 seconds if you do not select a revival method.

It's kind of like two groups on two small islands, separated by shooting arrows at one another. A ship becomes a platform on which the encounter takes place, like a dungeon room a room in a castle. You can attack the ship, of course, and the ship can take damage, but for the most part, ship-to-ship engagements really have to do with the crews on board. And, despite the fact that your ship may have a catapult and ballistae and whatnot on board, it's still pretty hard to trump a Fireball spell or a Lightning Bolt spell. The characters have so many other options at their disposal for disposing of shipboard enemies. We stay very much in the theatre of the mind with this product for the sake of keeping encounters fluid and fast.
Dungeon Altars, often known as Goddess Statues or Altar of the Goddess in Uladh, are found in every dungeon in Mabinogi. Dungeon Altars vary in appearance from dungeon to dungeon, however their function is all the same.
In the continent of Uladh, all dungeon altars have a stone statue of the Goddess Morrighan. In the continent of Iria, all dungeon altars are some type of stone pillar or a stone slab. In the case of the Par Ruins, the altar is a giant ice crystal with a snowflake design. Once inside a dungeon in Iria however, the altar becomes a glowing stone cube.
Once inside the dungeon, the dungeon altars act as resurrection points in the case that the player becomes Knocked Unconscious. By losing a small portion of total EXP and a portion of Health, one will be resurrected to the last dungeon altar he/she clicked on. Players can also revive at the Dungeon Entrance, should they decide to leave the dungeon for any reason.
However, Albey Dungeon lacks Goddess Statues (other than the statue found once inside the dungeon), which therefore makes it impossible to revive inside said dungeon. In Baol Dungeon, one cannot revive at the last Goddess Statue clicked on.
At the end of the dungeon, the final dungeon altar will be stationed at the end chest room. Clicking on the altar will prompt the player if they wish to return to the dungeon lobby. Many dungeon-completing quests require the player to exit through the altar.

Magic circles appear to be a way to channel magical energy, for example as a controlled heating device,[31] to cut out a section of ice[32] or to create a familiar from scratch.[33] They are made by using the magical implement of choice to etch out the circle.[34][35][36] Spells can also be written onto people's bodies.[14] Writing out spells allows them to be prepared for later use, for example to collapse a building at a desired time[37] or for keeping track of runaways.[14]
Teleportation magic involves the movement of objects and people from one place to another. This magic is mainly seen in the teleportation scrolls and paintings used by adventuring parties to travel from the dungeon to the surface and vice versa.[44][45][46] However, the Canary Mithrun uses teleportation magic offensively, for example by switching the locations of people's bodies and the environment around them.[47]
Resurrection magic is a longer version of healing magic[80] that involves bringing people back to life. It is implied to be unique to[30] and can only be performed while in the dungeon on the Island.[81] One theory is that death itself is forbidden in the dungeon thus preventing people's souls from leaving their bodies on death.[30] It is therefore linked to a mythical spell of immortality that fixes a soul to its body, which appears to be yet unknown.[82]
Resurrection magic, however, is not guaranteed to succeed.[89] The condition of the corpse plays a large role in whether or not the person can be revived,[90] as the greater the injury, the weaker the bonds tying the soul to the body become. A majority of failed resurrections are due to the soul having left the body, or incomplete restoration of the body itself.[91] For example, deaths via stab wounds or cuts are fairly easy to fix[90] (with one tale even telling of a successful resurrection after being cut into tiny pieces)[92], but it is said that if more than 1/13th of the body is lost or turned to ash, the chances drop significantly. The undoing of petrification is also fairly straightforward; however if the body is broken, care must be taken to not miss any pieces prior to attempting revival. Other complications include resurrection of a possessed body, as there is a chance the two souls can be mixed up in the process.[90] In addition, while there have been a few cases where bodies have been resurrected from just the skeleton, this is implied to be very rare.[93] Heavily damaged bodies require incredibly skilled magic users for a chance at successful resurrection.[94]
Knowledge and practice of ancient magic is illegal - any involvement with it, no matter how minor, is considered a criminal offense.[106] The elves have even been known to kidnap those of other races who discover magical objects from the ancient magic era.[104] In elven society, those convicted of ancient magic use appear to have the option to join the Canaries,[107][108] a task force sent out into the world to find and contain dungeons before they become too dangerous.[109]
Dungeon lords have special powers over their domain that cover a range of magical disciplines. They are able to create monsters that do their bidding, change the shape of the dungeon as desired and kill creatures indiscriminately. Killing their special summons will alert them to your presence.[115] Their lifespan is also extended by the power of the dungeon.[116]

This setting is aimed at new players or people looking for a more casual experience. Logical restrictions are in place to prevent items being placed in obscure locations which require niche knowledge to access (e.g. accessing Bumper Cave ledge without the Hookshot). Other logical restrictions also ensure excessively difficult execution is not required in order to progress. For example if you need to beat a late-game Dark World dungeon you will always have access to some sword and defense upgrades somewhere in the world.
This setting ensures all 216 locations can always be reached regardless of how inefficiently keys are used within dungeons. Specifically, big keys cannot be in big chests and certain chests behind key doors cannot contain small keys.
Small keys are no longer dungeon-specific and can be used to open key doors in any dungeon. They are no longer locked to their respective dungeons and may be found anywhere (e.g. in the overworld). Keys under pots and keys dropped by enemies remain unchanged. Ten keys have been removed from the item pool (fifteen on harder difficulties). Big keys, maps and compasses remain dungeon-specific and have not been randomized outside of their respective dungeons.
All entrances remain coupled. This means exiting one of these caves/dungeons will take you back to the entrance from which it was entered.All entrances for a given multi-entrance cave/dungeon are confined to appear within the same world (i.e. they do not connect the Light World and the Dark World). 59ce067264
