In describing the probem, I will confine here my description of the phone to only that which is essential to the problem and solution. I will not duplicate my other articles about the phone's features, as those articles cover those aspects in depth. Also, all words will be in italics. For example, I will use the word "touch center" and capitalization to represent the display touch panel, and only use the word "touch area" and no capitalization to represent the area above the touch center that is sometimes referred to as the screen. I will always use parentheses to surround common and important words in discussions of the problem in one particular article, but this is irrelevant to the specific details I will be describing here. I am not going to describe in any detail the basic workings of the phone, other than to mention the parts and their general functions.
I will use screenshots to make it easier to trace the problem on the phone. Almost all of this hardware will be covered by single screenshots, and with some adjustments made, multiple screenshots can be used to show a clearer view of the problem.
I'll show how the phone normally looks with no touch input. Notice the circle with a small triangle in the middle of it. That little triangle means that it is a proximity/touch sensor. I then tapped/pressed on the screen with a small tear drop shape to simulate pressing on it. Notice the bar that appears on top of the circle that indicates "Input from this sensor detected", and the triangle at the bottom indicates "when is this sensor being pulled low", showing the circle is being pulled down by the force of my fingertip outside the arc. When I moved my finger away and pulled it into the arc, it would raise and stay that way, showing it's working at that time. It's a touch sensing system.
Next, I pressed on the same touch sensor as before. The bar would go down. The triangle would move down to "Input from this sensor detected" area. The circle would raise to the top and stay there until I removed my finger. At that time, it would go back to the down position. The circle would drop down by about half from the top down to the input area, indicating that it has detected the touch. d2c66b5586
