In co-op, when your partner respawns, they're running away fast. If you stall them, for example, in the military base in the desert, your partner will run back to meet you. You will see them walk away from there. If you chase them, they'll run back to distance that they can easily avoid being attacked. By the time they run back, you can just get back to them.

Entering a running game mode with all cheat codes enabled will free up all damage their body takes before entering the game. In a game without cheat codes enabled, if the player manages to get the wanted level of 5 and gets into a fight, they can perform and evade all enemy attacks, plus sprint via cheats. The player must still deal the same amount of damage to enemies as in a level that does not have cheats enabled.
